Died - Burke - On Sunday morning April 7th, of a low, nervous type of remittent fever, Mrs M Catherine Burke, aged 40 years. The disease from the first assumed an obstinant, malignant character. She was attended by two of the best physicians in the county, but human aid was of little avail. This affliction is an uncommon one, as Mrs Burke left a blind husband and nine children, four small ones and a baby five months old. Mrs Burke was born in Ohio but spent most of her life in Indiana. she was converted and united with the Methodist church when only eleven years of age. She has ever been a consistent Christian and a faithful loving wife and mother. To those who know her best, she need no eulogy. The deceased was one of the first settlers of this valley, and nobly bore the privations incident to a frontier life. But the frail body could bear no more. She rests at last.
