George K. Ates, 52, of Magee died April 20 at the VA Hospital in Jackson.
He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a disabled water department worker for Okatoma Water Works.
Services were held April 22 at 11 a.m. from Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barney Padgett. Rev. Douglas Hogg and Rev. Evon Ingram officiating. Burial was in the Sharon Cemetery and Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mavis Ates of Magee; a sister, Mrs. Waydean Williamson of Magee; a brother, James K. Ates of Magee; two nieces, Connie Williamson of West Point and Bethany Ates of Magee; and a nephew, Wes Williamson of West Point,
