Harvey Nelson Alderton, 80, of Concordia, formerly of Lewis County died Monday, Nov. 25, 1996, at Vencor Hospital in Kansas City. He was born Jan. 10, 1916 in Ewing. Mr. Alderton lived in this area for 30 years before moving to Concordia five years ago. He worked for LabCon for 12 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Ewing and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Venus Alderton of Raytown; two sons, Harvey Alderton, Blue Springs and James Alderton, Overland Park, Kan.; six daughters, Shirley Hunholtz, Concordia, Connie Van Fleet, Ewing, Della Diane Olson and Glenda Novikoff, both of Santa Ana, Calif., Joyce Ann Hall, LaGrange and Minnie Sharifijad, Anahaim Hills, Calif.; two brothers, David Alderton, Durham, and Virgil Alderton, Windsor; a sister Virgie Mae Kelly, Maywood; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at the Carson Independence Chapel. Burial was in Mount Washington Cemetery.
