Abraham Jerden (Jordan) Graham was the son of Esquire William Graham and Elizabeth Bellamy, daughter of John Bellamy and Elizabeth Jordan and great granson of Abraham Jordan and Mary Jordan, 1700. {The name "Jerden," was later changed and spelled Jordan.}
Abraham J. was born in Green Sea area present day Loris SC. Abe was the younger brother of William Bellamy Graham Mitchell Swamp, Horry County, present day Loris SC.
Horry County Graham brothers William Bellamy and Abraham Jordan were grandfathers of Abe Graham, a. k. a. "Shotgun Collins."
Abraham J. was getting up in age, his wife Delila had died and his health was not good. He told one of his sons if he would agree to take care of him in his old age he would give him the home and plantation retaining a lifetime right for himself. The son quickly agreed. No sooner than the papers were signed and sealed the son sold it and migrated far away leaving the old man broken hearted, high and dry.
The old man Abraham J. went to court, however it was too late. One of his daughters took care of her ailing father all the days of his life expecting nothing in return. She was truely a gallant lady!
The Graham plantations were in generations since 1766, handed down from John Graham to his son Esquire William Graham and then onto his sons William Bellamy and Abraham Jerden Graham.
"Wills" and "Abe's" descendants are the ones known as Mitchell Swamp/Lake Swamp Graham's of Horry County!

Note:
It is not known if Abraham and Delila were buried in his older brother William Bellamy Graham's Cemetery or not. Some have "spectulated" but no one knows for sure!
Both Graham brothers own vast plantations in Horry County as far as one could see in all directions.
Abraham J. and slaves were with his older brother in 1846 when William Bellamy and hitch-hiker ( Mr. Smith on his way up the rivers to Va.) drown in the Winyah Bays of Georgetown, SC. during a storm. It was truly a sad day.
Abraham J. and the slaves washed ashore badly bruise but alive. The men made it back to Mitchell Swamp carring the heartbreaking news to Jane Conner Graham. On Sunday Jane sent Stephen Joe with her sons up the river to locate "Wills" body and fetch him home for burial.
he was buried on his plantation in the "William Bellamy Graham Cemetery."
Jane Conner Graham never remarried as her heart belong to William Bellamy Graham ever since the first hoe-down dance on Mitchell Swamp when she was a young girl. Jane buried a daughter, Dorca Louisa Graham ( died from diptheria fever at 17 years of age) near her father leaving a place in between for her when the time came.
