Funeral services were held at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home chapel last Friday afternoon for Samuel Lesley Pollard, 59, who died at the State Hospital in Farmington on Tuesday, March 6. The Rev. Floyd V. Brower conducted the service and burial was in Maple Cemetery.
Born at Charleston, Missouri, June 8, 1891 "Sammy" Pollard, as he was known here, had lived the greater part of his life in Caruthersville until entering the hospital at Farmington some seven years ago.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Minnie Boshears of Charleston; one brother, Frank Pollard of Portageville, and one half sister, Mrs. Lucy Noble of Charleston.
