COLLINS, GA. - Selwyn Reid Blackstone, 81, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010, at his daughter's residence. He was born in Milwaukee on October 6, 1928, to Selwyn and Beatrice (nee: Cockburn) Blackstone. Selwyn lived most of his life in Milwaukee and then moved to Collins, Ga., where he resided for over 30 years. He was President of the Midwest Coursing Club for many years. Selwyn was self-employed as a Greyhound Breeder and Trainer. He was also a Manager at Scheleins Restaurant in Milwaukee. Selwyn is survived by his sweetheart of many years, Yvonne Clark of Collins, Ga.; daughter, Roxanne (Mike) Pfarr of Kansasville; son, Michael (Tina) Blackstone of Racine; daughter, Michele (Chris) Bendix; and grandchildren, Jerry, Jasmine, Cindy, Jonathan, Angelo, and Krystal. He is further survived by Gertrude Blackstone, Judy Blackstone, and Don Blackstone, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by brothers, Larry and Bobby; sister, Lilly; and his parents. Memorial services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at 4 p.m. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday before services from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
