Son of Albert St. Jean.

William served as a Seaman, Second Class, USS Hutchins (DD-476), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in Merrimack County, New Hampshire prior to the war. He enlisted in the Navy on October 5, 1942.

William died in the "Line Of Duty" when, during testing at Pearl Harbor, the guns of the Hutchins went off from an electrical failure causing 9 sailors to perish.
