He died on 30th July 1944, on board Halifax Bomber NA503, 102 Squadron, which took off from RAF Pocklingham, Yorkshire to attack enemy strong points in the Normandy area. No further communication was heard until it was discovered that the aircraft had crashed 3-miles N/W of Moreton-In-Marsh. He was 22.
