MEREDITH H. STONE

Meredith H. Stone was born April 3, 1905 at Burton, Nebraska to Lewis and Sadie Stone and died December 17, 1985 in the Burke Hospital following a sudden stroke.

He lived most of his early life in Gregory County, South Dakota.

He was married to Edna Lampitt at Burke, SD on Feburary 19, 1928, and to them five children were born. They lived in Gregory and Tripp counties and moved to a farm near Millboro in 1942 where they lived until he retired in 1980 and moved to Dallas, SD. In July 1985 he moved to Burke.

He was an active member of both the Dallas and Burke Senior Citizens organizations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Roland, and a sister, Hazel.

He is survived by his wife, Edna who is a resident of the Butte Nursing Home; two sons, Jack D. of Winner, Lewis Keith, Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Mrs. Poley (Dolores) Williams, Center Ridge, Arkansas and Mrs. Don (Darlene) Thomas, Valentine, and one sister, Mrs. Oliver (Helen) Nelson, Great Bend, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Services were held at the Winner United Methodist Church, December 21, 1985 with the Rev. J. Edwin Coats officiating. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Springview.
