Geneva was born April 29, 1917 at Crews, Texas, the daughter of Marvin and Sarah Elizabeth (Hurt) Payne.

She is survived by her son, Gerald and his wife Margaret Hilley, Conroe, Texas; stepson, George and his wife Hortez Strickland, Fort Worth, Texas; step-daughter, Dorothy McNutt, San Angelo, Texas; two grandsons and one granddaughter; five great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; two great-great-grandsons and two great-great-granddaughters; six step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; six nieces; one nephew and several cousins.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Strickland; parents; four sisters, Jewel, Margaret, Golda and Treva; two brothers, Chester Payne and Ollie Payne; one niece, Patricia Dee Sisk; step-daughter Olene Hicks, San Angelo; and one one grandson, Fort Worth.
