MARIE FAHRLANDER OBIT
Marie V Fahrlander was born January 13, 1894 in Mills County, Iowa, and departed this life at Brule, Nebraska, September 22, at the age of 62 years, 8 months, 9 days, following a lingering illness.
She spent her childhood on a farm in Iowa, moving to Union, NE in 1912. On June 23, 1913, she was united in marriage to Ernest Anderson. To this union three children were born, all of whom survive. She has lived in the Brule community since 1919.
On Feb. 9, 1944, she was united in marriage to Thomas D. Empie at Chappell, NE. She has been known to her many friends as "Mamie". Although she was not a member of any organization she expressed her interest through the activities of her children. She was always interested in anything for the development or betterment of the community. She devoted much of her time to gardening, sharing her flowers with everyone, her family and her friends; with her gardening and love for reading and keeping up with current affairs and new developments in all branches of science she felt her life was complete.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Thomas, two sons, Herman and Robert Anderson, one daughter, Mrs. Lorene Mercer, all of Brule; also eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers; Emil Fahrlander of Milford; Arnold of Union, and Raymond of Plattsmouth, and a sister, Mrs. Helen Ramsey of Hutchinson, Kansas, as well as many distant relatives and numerous friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Congregation Church in Brule, Wednesday, September 26, at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Roberts Croker, officiating.
