The Russell County, Ala. native lived most of her life in Candler County. She was owner and director of Modern Finance Company, a member of Metter Primitive Baptist Church, a member and past president of Marion Agan Circle and teacher of Mattie Murl Bowen Bible Class, recently named in her honor.
Surviving are two sons, Mike Bowen of Metter and Ben Bowen of Atlanta; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Jackson of Lilburn; three brothers, Hudson Tillery of Metter, Paul Tillery of Pahokee, Fla., and Woodrow Tillery of Dothan, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Alice Tarver of Savannah; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral: 1o a.m. Saturday at Metter Primitive Baptist Church, burial in Lake Cemetery.
