He was born in Metter in Candler County and was retired from the Social Security Administration. He was employed by Atlantic Music Company and was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Trapnell Bowen of Metter; two sisters, Mrs. Erline Wallace and Mrs. Troy Hendrix, both of Metter; and five brothers, Arthue E. and Fred Bowen, both of Atlanta, Ray and Brooks Bowen, both of Metter, and Robert Bowen of Huntsville, Ala.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Metter Primitive Baptist Church, with burial in Lake Cemetery.
