Juliana Galaz (Galas) was the daughter of Juan Galaz and Encarnacion Chavarria, the 6th of at least 11 children born to this couple, all born in New Mexico Territory.

Julia, as she was known to family, became the wife of Dionicio B Lopez on 10 Dec 1906 in Silver City, NM and over the next almost 20 years their family grew to 12 children, with 8 of those children growing to adulthood and providing the joys of being grandparents for Julia and Dionicio.

Daughter, Anna, or Annie as she was called, born 13 Sep 1907 in New Mexico was the first child of Dionicio and Julia Galaz. Just seven months after the family moved to Graham County, AZ little Annie contracted Diptheria and died 05 Mar 1910 in Metcalf, Graham County, AZ during a huge outbreak of the deadly disease. Julia was pregnant with Sara at the time.

Mother of Arthur Lopez of Anaheim, Rebecca Marillo of Ripon, Gus Lopez of Sacramento, Albert Lopez and Danny Lopez of Modesto and Foster Lopez of Manteca. Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.A native of New Mexico, aged 83 years. Committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
