The 73rd regiment, Company B mustered at Camp Rose in South Bend, Indiana on August 16, 1862. Ordered to Lexington KY, Battle of Perryville, KY and Battle of Stones River. Daniel B. Mandeville was discharged on January 13 1863 due to injuries received in battle.

Daniel was injured during the Civil War and filed for a pension on August 26, 1863.
