ODESSA:- Homer O. Watson, 73, of Odessa passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in a local hospital.
Mr. Watson was born Oct. 22, 1926, in Tanglewood, Texas.
He married Frances Butler Oct. 15, 1949, in Bartlett, Texas. He went to work for Halliburton Services in 1948 and retired as divisional manager in 1991. During those years he was transfered to McCamey, Iraan, Big Lake, Rankin, Odessa, Andrews, Wichita, Kan., and Oklahoma City. He returned to Odessa in October 1999 from Fort Worth. Mr. Watson was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a Methodist. He will be remembered as a friend to the working man and a kind, gentle person.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alva Odes Watson in 1981.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances Marie Butler Watson of Odessa: one son, Homer O. Watson III of Odessa; one daughter, Margaret Watson Slagle of Andrews; his mother, Thelma Kyle Watson of Lexington; sisters, Mona Haack of San Antonio, Myrtie Alice Fritcher and Elaine Quinney, both of Lexington; three grandchildren, Jordan Slagle of Abilene, Kyle Watson of Odessa and Aaron Watson of Fort Benning, Georgia.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, in the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home Chapel in Rockdale, Texas, with Rev. J. W. Butler and Rev. Jimmy Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Grove Cemetery.
