Inscription
HERE LYES Ye BODY
OF JOHN FULLER
WHO DIED JULY Ye
24 1732 IN
Ye 43d YEAR
OF HIS AGE
Based on John's recorded date of birth (Oct. ---, 1689), on the day John died he was 42 years old, and Ætatis suæ (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of his Age) 43. This indicates he was born AFTER July 24, 1689.
Note: Gustavus Hinckley, whose manuscript the NEHGS based its 2002 Barnstable Town Records CD, either parenthetically added without quotation marks to the balance of the gravestone inscription, or the original fully visible gravestone inscription included "He was son [of] Dr. John Fuller."
