WARSAW -- Shelby Jean Rivenbark Melton, 62, died Monday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

She was born Sept. 5, 1942, to Sudie Howell Rivenbark of Warsaw and the late Jerry Clifford Rivenbark and was the widow of George F. "Bo" Melton.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, George F. Melton II, and wife, Heather Nicole Melton, of Warsaw; a daughter, Amanda Doris "Dot" Phipps, and husband, Thomas Alex Phipps, of Warsaw; three brothers, Jerry "Bud" Rivenbark and wife Hilda Maria Rivenbark, of Charleston, S.C., Arthur "Ozzie" Rivenbark of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Steven Lloyd Rivenbark of Warsaw; grandchildren, Thomas Alex Phipps Jr. and wife Tammy Lee Phipps, Ira Brandon Phipps and wife Jennifer Kate Phipps, Monica Dawn Phipps, Heather Michelle Matthews and husband Timothy Wray Matthews, George Floyd "BJ" Melton and Haley Dawn Melton; great-grandchildren, Brookelynn Caroline Matthews, Marrionna Mischelle Matthews, Thomas Alex "Trey" Phipps III and Ralph Devin Phipps.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church, 709 Memorial Drive, Warsaw. The Rev. Edgar Rouse and the Rev. Andy Wood will officiate. Burial will follow in the Devotional Gardens.
