The Wallowa Sun Newspaper, Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon, dated (Friday) May 20, 1910.

Mrs. L.S. Johnson, of Milton, aged 71 years died last Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the home of her daughter Mrs. N.D. Varner in Joseph. Besides Mrs. Varner she leaves two daughters, two sons, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a multitude of friends.

The daughters are, Mrs. Lee Rose of Lostine, and Mrs. Paula Murphy of Joplin, Mo., The sons are, Isaac L. Johnson of Milton where she made her home and T.K. Johnson of Wallowa.

Mrs. Johnson was an old settler of Oregon having been in this locality about 20 years.

Funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church. The sermon was preached by Rev. Harris of Enterprise. The best tribute to her memory is the short phrase heard often, "All who knew her loved her."
