Date: Wednesday, August 29, 1990

LANETT -- Mrs. Hattie Grubbs, 91, died Tuesday at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. at Plant City Baptist Church with the Rev. Rev. Jim Abbott and the Rev. Roger Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Shawmut Cemetery.

Mrs. Gurbbs is survived by three daughtes, Lorene Carpenter of Leesburg, Annelle Snow of Forest Park, Ga., and Rachel Boyd of Roanoke; two sons, Thomas J. Grubbs and Hill Grubbs both of Lanett; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-granchildren.

The faily will receive friends this evening from 7-9 at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.

A native of Fredonia, Mrs. Grubbs was a charter member of Plant City Baptist Church, and a former member of the Golden Age club. She was a life long resident of Chambers County and was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell's Shawmut Mill.
