Ernest P. Rowe, 58, of Tunkhannock, died Friday morning in Tunkhannock. He was born in Meshoppen, a son of the late Ernest M. and Helen Shaffer Rowe. He and his wife, the former Patricia Tewksbury, had been married for 27 years. He was employed as a mechanic for Sherwood Chevrolet in Tunkhannock for more than 30 years. He was a graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School, Class of 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Triton Hose Company. He loved to work on cars and could fix anything. He enjoyed building remote control cars and boats, riding jet skis and four wheeling. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jane Fenwick; and two nephews. He is survived by his wife and son, Ryan, of Tunkhannock, a brother, Elmer of Tunkhannock; a sister, Marion Livingston, of Freeport, Texas; and his faithful dog and companion, Peyton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Lori Robinson, Eatonville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends may call on Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ernest P. Rowe Scholarship Fund, c/o Community Bank and Trust, 74 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
