Anna Marie Adams, 70, died Tuesday evening, October 20th, in the Elkhart General Hospital where she had been a patient for one week. She had been ill for one year.

She was born September 9, 1900 in Elkhart County to Eli and Laura Belle (Stouder) Newcomer. She married George Adams on February 3, 1917. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1959.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Every year, on the first weekend in September, her family celebrated her birthday with a family reunion at the pavilion in West Park in Nappanee. She was a great cook and could whip up anything from cherry cobbler to chocolate cake without referring to any recipe. She collected Salt and Pepper shakers which her family continually added to her collection. She was very strong in her faith. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and of the Nappanee Chapter of American War mothers.

Surviving are five sons and five daughters, 45 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, one sister, and three brothers. One son and two brothers preceded her in death.
