Son of Adam and Rose Viney Bolen.

According to the Kansas State Census Collection, 1855-1925, dated March 1, 1895, B. F. Bolen Benjamin Franklin Bolen (46) and his wife "Addie" Margaret Adeline Courtney Bolen (37) lived in Le Roy, Kansas. They married May 25, 1873.

Their firstborn child, Rose Ann Bolen Mulinex married William J. Mulinex. Their five other children were still living at home the first of March 1895: (Samuel) Tilden is shown to be 18; Atlas, Charles Atlas "Deak" Bolen, 16; Lola Modest Bolen Glasscock, 14; Robert, 12, and "Lizza" Elizabeth Bolen Bacon, 10.

Tilden and Robert are believed to have died in the 1926 influenza epidemic.

The 1930 United States Federal Census, shows Elizabeth, age 44, widowed and living with her Dad, Benjamin Franklin Bolen, age 79, a widower, in Coffeyville, Kansas. Elizabeth's children, Gerald Frank (22) and Clorene Adeline (20), lived with them.
