Andrew "Andy" Post was born in the community of Woodall, southwest of Tahlequah to Caroline "Carrie" Woodall and John Beaver Post. Carrie Woodall was the daughter of Margaret Hendricks and Andrew Woodall; John Beaver Post was the son of Elizabeth Rebecca Chapman & William L. Post.
Andrew Post was 1/8 Cherokee and married Parilee Steeley, daughter of William Arch & Mary Ann Townsend Steeley, in Metory, OK, on November 25, 1908. He worked as a farmer, the WPA after WWII, and as a caretaker of the Murrell Home located in Park Hill, OK.
Their 9 children are: Eldee Post McKinney, Willie Mae Post Hathcoat; Opal Margaret Post Ryder; Mary Gillia Post Stanley, Letha Post Young; Annie Post Teehee; Carrie Post Mahaney; Gladys Marie Post Huitt McLain; and Billy Andrew Post.
Andrew and Parilee lived in the Park Hill area, Woodall area, Ft. Gibson, and at their deaths they lived in Muskogee,OK. Andy died in Perry, OK, while fishing. He was a tall lanky man with blue eyes who always wore overalls. He had two toes chopped off while he cut wood.
