The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Sep 25, 1936 - pg 1
Mrs Anna M. Galt
Mrs Anna Galt of Modesto, California, died at her home Sunday, September 13, at the age of 70 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 15 at the Modesto funeral home with interment made in the Citizens cemetery, Modesto.
Mrs Galt was born in Indiana in 1866, coming to Nebraska when a small girl with her parents. They located in Otoe county (sic).
She was married to Amos A. Galt near Burr, Nebraska, in 1891. The young couple moved to a farm nearby and three sons were born there. Soon after the family moved to a farm a mile from Edgar, Nebraska. Here the two youngest sons were born as well as one daughter, who passed away a few days after birth.
Mr Galt purchased a bank at Franklin and the family moved to town with the three youngest sons. The two oldest sons remained on the farm.
In 1919, partly in an effort to help Mrs Galt, who was a sufferer from rheumatism. Mr Galt took his wife and son, Ellis C. Galt to Pasadena, Calif., after disposing of their business property in Nebraska.
Two years later they moved to Hughson and in 1926 built a home in Modesto. Mr Galt is president of the Bank of Hughson.
During her late years Mrs Galt found joy in her church work, to which she could now devote more time, and to her grandchildren, each one of whom, as she or he grew up, was a source of pride to her.
A year ago her health steadily failed and the work of the years began to take its toil. For the past several months she had been confined to her bed almost constantly. Her third son, Dr Curtis M. Galt, arrived from is post in China and Mrs Galt was made happy in knowing that her family was all with her.
She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her husband, Amos A. Galt and her sons, Maurice A., Stuart C., Dr Curtis M., Clarence L. and Ellis C., all but the doctor in the Hughson district of California
