John Edd Snell, Sr., age 73, died Monday, June 10, 1991 at his home in the Irish Colony Community near Pheba. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 12 at Pine Bluff Baptist. Burial was in Pine Bluff Cemetery with the Rev. Nap Clark officiating assisted by the Rev. John Edd Snell, Jr.
The son of the late Edd Benton Snell and the late Lydia Durham Snell, he was retired from Babcock and Wilcox Company in West Point where he worked for 25 years as a Leaderman. He was also a former, a Mason, and an active member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Church Clerk.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Glen Snell of Pheba; one daughter, Mrs. Betty McNeel of Pheba; one son, the Rev. John Edd Snell, Jr. of Utica; one sister, Mrs. Pauline Harden of Sharpsburg, Georgia; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were John Crowley, Donald Moore, Mike Cliett, Dan Vaughn, Darold Neal and Lamar Dendy. Honorary pallbearers were Guy Vaughn, Morris Wright, Hugh Stevenson, Leotis Pate and Sammie McNeel.
