Pearl Marie Beasley Gordon, 89, of Blue Ridge Rehab Center, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born in Mount Airy, N.C., on March 20, 1921, to Edgar Beasley and Annie Shelor Beasley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Wilbur "Bill" Gordon; three sisters, Jessie Cole, Emma Ruth Beasley and Magalene Beasley; and two brothers, James Beasley and Sam Beasley.
She worked in the cafeteria at Fieldale Elementary School for more than 20 years and later retired from Martinsville Convalescent Home, where she also worked in the cafeteria.
She was a member of Fieldale Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Lou Gordon Crews of Emporia; a son, William Mac Gordon of Fieldale; two sisters, Shirley Hooker of Fieldale and Thelma Slate of Pilot Mountain, N.C.; two brothers, Harry Beasley of Lawsonville, N.C., and William Beasley of Westfield, N.C.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Martinsville Chapel of Norris Funeral Services and Crematory with the Revs. Richard Harrison and David Deisher officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
