Rites Saturday For John William France
Ipava, Sept. 18 - Funeral services for John William France, 87, who died Wednesday in the Home of his son, Frank France of near Cuba, will be conducted Satrday afternoon at 2 o'clock (CST) in the Ipava Christian church by the Rev. E. E. Catlin.
He was born in Bernadotte township, July 27, 1860. He married Carrie Bell Wheeler, May 16, 1897 in Bernadotte. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank Breckenridge, Fairview. Mrs. Arthur Bolton, Milton; four sons, Harty [Hardy] France of LaHarpe, Frank France, Cuba, Thomas France, Smithfield, John France, Peoria; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one half-sister Mrs. Cora Fordyce of Table Grove.
Mr. France had lived in and around Bernadotte all his life, and was a farmer by trade.
Burial will be in the Ipava cemetery.
