20 Sep 1944 - Funeral rites for Joseph Peyton Tyler, age 70 years, were held at 2 p.m. last Friday at the Baptist church, Bayou Scie. Rev. Joe Flanagan officiated. Massingill funeral home in charge, interment Bayou Scie cemetery.
Surviving are: wife; three sons, C. J. Tyler, Sour Lake, Texas, R. L. and Joseph Tyler, Many; four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Simpson, New Mexico, Mrs. Myrtis Rains, Shreveport, Mrs. W. G. Allen, Zwolle, Mrs. Nan Ford, Texas; two brothers, Tom Tyler, Silsbee, Texas, John Tyler, address unknown; 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
