Elizabeth Niederhaus, daughter of John Boehm and Elizabeth Herzog, was born in Kutter,Saratov, Russia, a town near the Volga River. Elizabeth was baptized and later confirmed in 1896 in the Reformed faith in Kutter. She was united in marriage to Henry Lissman, jr on Dec. 27, 1899 and they were blessed with 3 children: Amolia "Molly", Frederick and Henry. Frederick and Henry both died in childhood in Russia.

On 5 Mar. 1910 Elizabeth with her daughter Amolia (Molly) emigrated to the US, arriving in Sutton in May of that year. Henry had emigrated earlier. They were engaged in farming in Oak and York and then southeast of Sutton. They later moved to Lincoln where, in 1937, Henry passed away.

Elizabeth married George Niederhaus in 1937, who passed away in May of 1966. Mrs. Niederhaus lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Griess until her death.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her 3 brothers: Henry, Adam and Phillip; by 4 sisters who died in infancy and buried in Kutter; by her 2 sons, Frederick and Henry, also buried in Kutter; by her first husband, Henry Lissman and by her second husband, George Niederhaus.

Upon her death she was survived by her daughter, Molly, seven grandchildren, and twenty-seven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
