Mrs. Julia R. Mitchell, wife of Charles C. Mitchell, died yesterday afternoon at the residence of her son, C. A. Mitchell, Springfield, aged 74 years, 2 months and 16 days. The decedent suffered a stroke of paralysis last August and has since been bedfast.
The decedent was the daughter of Joseph B. and Malinda A. Perkins. She was born in Sangamon county Nov. 11, 1851. Her mother died when she was 6 years old, after which she made her home with her grandparents, Washington and Ann Foster Iles, who were among the earliest settlers of Sangamon county, having been married in Kentucky, May 21, 1822. They came to Illinois and settled in Springfield in 1825.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, one son, C. A. Mitchell; three grandchildren, Mary Alice, Charles and Robert Mitchell; also her step-mother, Anna Mary Perkins, and three brothers, Joseph B., Robert L. and Reed M. Perkins.
Funeral services held at the residence of her son. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
