Chris Peterson died at his home last Saturday evening. Mr. Peterson was one of the earliest settlers of our town. He was a loving husband, kind father, counselor and friend to those he has left behind. He was specially the poor man's friend, and the bereaved family have much consolation in the reflection that he has done much good to those around him, and leaves a fond memory.
His remains were buried on Tuesday afternoon.

Christian Peterson was born in Ringebo, Gulbrandsdalen, Norway, Jan. 14, 1822 and married Mari Trondon also a native on the same place born November 5, 1823.
They came to America i 1855 and first located in Wisconsin where they remained but a short time. They then moved to Iowa, where they conducted general farming and later in 1857 they came to Manchester Township, acquired land and found their home. To them several children were born. Theodore and Peter are prosperous farmers of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Hans, Lauritz and Matthias live in Manchester.
Christian died November 5, 1998 and his wife November 3, 1906.
