Daughter of John Spurlock Jr and Frances "Fanny" Turman. John Spurlock had moved from Montgomery Co, VA to Floyd Co, KY in 1791. The Spurlocks lived on present-day Spurlock Fork of Middle Creek near Prestonburg in Floyd County, KY.

Sally married Nicholas Tarter in 1798 in Virginia.

There is some disagreement on when Sarah died and where she was buried.

From: The Darter-Tarter-Daughters Families -
Nicholas "and Sally both buried in Mt. Mitchell Methodist Cemetery north of Wytheville, Va. Nicholas Jr died in 1858 and Sally died 16 years later. The Cemetery was just across the road from the house built by Nicholas Darter Sr."
If she died 16 years after Nicholas, then her death date was 1874.
It doesn't seem likely that she and Nicholas died the same year, but it's hard to read her tombstone. It does look a little like the last number is 8

Her tombstone seems to be at:
Hounshell-Snapp cemetery in Rogersville, Hawkins Co, TN, (on Webb Road).
