"Mrs. Ellen K. Hoverson, an old resident of Buchanan County, died last night at 10 o'clock at the home of her son, H. C. Hoverson, six miles southeast of the city limits, near Ajax, after an illness of three weeks. She was born in Norway seventy-nine years ago and throughout the forty years she had been in America, she had lived at the family home near Ajax.
Besides her son, H. C. Hoverson, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Farris of Faucett. Burial will be in the Nelson Cemetery, near the home." St Joseph News-Press, May 24, 1912
