"GUILMETTE, Collin S., 69, of St Joseph, MO, died Thursday, January 5, 1995, at his home after a lengthy illness.

He had formerly lived in the Chatsworth and San Fernando Valley areas for 40 years, moving to St Joseph in 1992. A teacher for 41 years, he retired as a professor of history at Glendale College, Glendale, CA, and was the first president of the faculty senate. He was named Outstanding Faculty Member by the Alpha Gamma Sigma Honors Society. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, the social sciences division established the Collin S. Guilmette scholarship. He had served in the Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Potter Nelson Guilmette of the home; two daughters, Julie Guilmette of Toluca Lake, CA, and Cathy McAdams of Flower Mound, TX; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 9th, at the First Lutheran Church, St Joseph. Interment in Nelson Family Cemetery, St Joseph." The Los Angeles Times (Los Angeles, California), January 8, 1995
