Major League Baseball Player. Played Major League baseball as a 3rd Baseman for 6 seasons (1877, 1882-1886) for the National League St. Louis Brown Stockings, the American Association St. Louis Browns, Louisville Colonels and Philadelphia Athletics, and the Union Association's St. Louis Maroons. He was a relatively good hitter in his career, and led the American Assocation in Bases on Balls (27) in 1882. While with the Maroons in 1884, he hit .324. His younger brother, Bill Gleason, also played for the AA Browns, and was his teammate in 1882 and 1883. Jack Gleason's career totals were 343 Games Played, 384 Hits, 253 Runs, 9 Home Runs and a .269 Career Batting Average.
