At the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Larkins at Gibbon, Okla. Tuesday July 24, 1917, Mrs. J. F. Poe, aged 78 years and 5 days.

The remains were brought to Ozark Thursday and funeral services held at the Christian church Thursday forenoon conducted by Rev. S. E. Hendrickson, pastor of the Christian church., followed by interment in the Highlandville cemetery beside her husband who died in October 1898.

Deceased was born in Terre Haute, Ind. July 18, 1839 and in early life moved to Illinois, where she was married to James F. Poe about 1857, to which union nine children were born, eight girls and one boy, to wit: Mrs. Anne Coleman of Lentz, Oregon; Mrs. Ida Elliott of Sacramento, Cali; Mrs. Allie Clay of Ozark; Mrs. C. E. Davis of DonLuis, Arizona; John F. Poe of Salt Lake City, Utah and Mrs. J. M. Larkins of Gibbon, Oklahoma.

Early in life, Mrs. Poe professed religion and for years had lived a consistent Christian life being a member of the Christian church for years.

Mrs. Bertie Larkins and two youngest children came from Gibbons, Oklahoma with Mrs. Clay and their mother’s remains to be present at her funeral.
