Funeral services for Carole Jean "Jeanie" Wood, 70, of Ramona, were held Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Don Queen officiated and burial was in Ramona Cemetery in Ramona, OK. Casket bearers were Lacy Mills, Milan Mills, Dunie Mills and John L. Wood. Honorary casket bearers were Bill Mills, Thomas L. Wood, and George Hough. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Carole Jean was born May 31, 1940 in Tulsa, OK to James Alfred and Mary Etta (Brown) Mills. She passed away August 9, 2010 in Ramona, OK.

Carole Jean was a loving wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker and a very skilled craftswoman. In her early years, she was a barrel racer, Circle C's Roundup Club Queen, Berryhill Football Queen, and Berryhill Carnival Queen. Carole Jean was a very talented seamstress who made clothes and very intricately embroidered patterns. She sewed beautiful embellishments made of beadwork and sequins to go on formal dresses. Carole Jean crocheted dolls to cover air fresheners and she crocheted towel hangers. She also crafted ceramics. She enjoyed gardening and canning. Most of all, she was devoted to spending time with and taking care of her family. They were the most important people in her life. Carole Jean was loved by many and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Wood; daughter, Cynthia Lea Woodworth and George F. Hough; son, Steven Wayne Wood; grandchildren; Catherine A. Woods, Justin G. Woodworth and wife Crystal G., Jackie O'Rourke and husband Sean, Amber Curtis, Bridgett Diane Parks; 14 great-grandchildren; father, James Alfred Mills; brothers, Billy Ray Mills, Lacy Lee Mills, Milan Duane Mills, and James Alfred "Dunie" Mills, Jr.; sister, Martha Lynn Blaylock; aunts and uncles, Charlotte Brixey, Ramona Groden, Pat Mills, Margaret Reece, Mary Jo and Leroy Armer, Jack "Sonny" and Carol Mills, Eddie and Ruth Ann Mills; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends..

She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Eugene Wood; grandson, Richard Lloyd "Stormy" Wood; and mother, Mary Etta Mills.
