St. Clair - Edward James Ahles, 72, died Sunday, April 4, 1993.
HE was born Sept. 6, 1920, in St. Clair. He married Olive Rose Jan. 27, 1940.
Ed was employed with Diamond Crystal Salt Co. for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1982. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. HE belonged to the American Legion and was an avid outdoors man.
He is survived by his wife, Olive; son, Christian Edward Ahles of St. Clair daughters, Nancy Shuler of Goodells, Sharon Zelenock and Mary Wrocklage, both of St. Clair, Carol Lynn Ahles of Port Huron and Annette Girard of Laurium; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Melba Mudge of Smiths Creek, Lois Comment of Anchorville and Carol McWain of St. Clair; and brothers, Walter Ahles of Port Huron and James Peter Ahles of St. Clair.
Services are 11 A.M. Wednesday in the L. C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home in St Clair The Rev. John Naile will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mr Ahles' grandsons, Jim, Jeff and John Greig, Tom and Ray Shuler Jr. and Ed Ahles Jr.
Visiting in 2 to 9 P.M. today. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
