The obituary for Mrs. Jane Abercrombie in the Windsor Gazette stated that she had died Apr. 26, 1945 at the Risser Home in Strasburg. She was born Feb. 24, 1869, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rankin and had married P. A. Abercrombie, Jul. 5, 1916. He had preceded her in death. Surviving were step-daughters, Mrs. A. H. Rankin of Windsor; Mrs. Jake Sitler of Mattoon; and Mrs. W. C. Warren of Shelbyville; and a sister, Mrs. D. M. Ellis of Mattoon. Burial was in Ash Grove Cemetery.
