Obituary 1967, October 5, in the Rich Hill Mining Review

Mrs. Clara Jones, 89, of Mound City, KS, died at 4 am Sept. 28, 1967 at KS State hospital, Osawatomie. She had suffered a broken hip recently.

The daughter of Phillip and Josephine Boggs Arganbright, she was born April 12, 1878, in Iowa. She came to Hume as a small child with her family, and in 1905 moved to Mulberry, KS, where she worked as a telephone switchboard operator for several years.

In 1918 at Canon City, Colorado, she was married to George Reed, who died in 1924. Her second marriage was in 1927 to William L. Jones at Mulberry. Mr. Jones died in February 1955, and Mrs. Jones moved to Mound City in July, 1965. She was a member of the Mulberry Methodist Church.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. John M. Holtman of Rochester, NY, and two step-sons. Mrs. Clarence Adams of Pleasanton is a niece.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Saturday at the Fairchild Chapel, Mound City, with Rev Ivan Bare officiating.

Interment was in the Hume Cemetery.
