Jack Arnold was married on Sept. 15, 1915 to Miss Mollie James Lynch, said to be the natural daughter of outlaw/desperado Jesse James. This has never been positively verified but it could have been possible as it is thought that Jesse James took several "casual" wives and fathered numerous children. However, the fellow who was probably her real father was James Patrick Lynch (1848-1915), a native of Galveston, Texas. Her mother was the former Emma Lena Powers.

Jack and Mollie were the parents of seven children: fraternal twins Lt. Col. Ray Earle Arnold, USAF, Ret. (17 May 1917- 24 Oct 2003), and Fay Merle (17 May 1917-14 Sep 2001); Mary Lou Reagan Duffeck (01 Mar 1921-18 Jun 2011); Dorothy Helen Hess Miller (02 Jan 1923-02 Mar 2004); Bessie Virginia Moynihan Ezell (02 Nov 1925-09 May 2014); Pauline Laverne "Polly" Lawrence (01 Jan 1930-11 Nov 2012); and Bobbie Jack (17 Aug 1936-08 Jan 2003).

Jack was known to be a hard worker and good provider, a devoted family man to his wife and children, and a loving son and brother.

He is remembered with fondness.
