Alene Smith
Alene V. Smith of Eugene died Aug. 1 of Alzheimer's disease. She was 81.
A private service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland on Sept. 13 for her and her husband, Winston A. Smith, who died June 18.
She was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Liberty, Tenn., to William Vandagriff and Nettie Mullican. She married Winston Smith on June 12, 1943, in Catoosa County, Ga.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Walker of Eugene and Patricia Walker of Portland; two brothers, Clyde Vandagriff of Gila Bend, Ariz. and Robbie Vandagriff of McMinnville, Tenn; a sister, Bobbie Vandagriff of McMinnville, Tenn; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
