Warren Eugene Bunch CHARLESTON -

Warren Eugene Bunch, 89, of Charleston passed away on August 19, 2010, at Hospice of Charleston.

Mr. Bunch was born on May 16, 1921, in Charleston to William James Bunch Sr., and Dora Milligan Bunch.

A graduate of Murray Vocational School, Mr. Bunch served proudly in the US Navy aboard the USS Admiralty Island stationed in the Pacific during World War II. After the war he worked for the Naval Shipyard in Washington, DC and was a draftsman at the Charleston Naval Shipyard.

He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served in the choir as a tenor.

Mr. Bunch was predeceased by his wife, Marie Reynolds Bunch, as well as his parents; two brothers, Harold L. Bunch formerly of Mt Pleasant and William J. Bunch, Jr. formerly of Hyattsville, MD and a sister, Elizabeth B. Wilson of Charleston, SC. He is survived by one sister, Ernestine L. Capitan of Charleston and several nieces and nephews, as well as a great-grand-nephew and a great-grand-niece.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2010, at McAlister-Smith West Ashley Chapel, 2501 Bees Ferry Rd. from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 23, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 888 King Street, Charleston, at 1:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Bethany Cemetery on Cunnington Avenue, Charleston.
