BEECHER CITY — Carl Dean Beck, 78, of Beecher City passed away at 9:39 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Lorton Cemetery, Cowden with Pastor Bill Phillips officiating. Arrangements are by Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Beecher City. Memorials may be made to Lorton Cemetery Driveway Fund. Condolences may be made at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com.

He was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Cowden, the son of Harvey and Lulu (Sloat) Beck. He married Florence I. Wade May 27, 1950, in Effingham. She preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 2009.

He was a member of Church of God in Effingham and Masonic Lodge in Cowden. He was on the general staff of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters in Washington D.C. for 25 years.

Surviving are sons, Michael Beck (Pamela) of Beecher City, Pat Beck (Barbara) of Effingham and Mark Beck of Beecher City; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers and three sisters.
