DWAYNE REX PETERSON

OGDEN – Dwayne Rex Peterson passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005 at the age of 56, surrounded by his loving parents. After many years of being confined to his jazzy, he is now free to be himself again.

Dwayne was born September 22, 1948 to Rex and Una Peterson in Ogden, Utah. Dwayne lived in Ogden until the age of two then moved with his family to California.

Dwayne served in the Armed Forces in the Vietnam War.
Dwayne married Carol Decker. They had two sons, David James Peterson and Christopher Wade Peterson. They later divorced.

Dwayne experienced life to the fullest. He tried many things. Dwayne lived in many places through out his life. He could make friends wherever he went. Dwayne was in an automobile accident 17 years ago and after arriving at the hospital suffered a head injury that eventually put him in his wheelchair. Even through all of this, he kept his sense of humor and always had a joke to tell.

Dwayne was very caring and shared with others freely. He would see others in need and he would not hesitate to help them out. In his later years in the nursing homes where he lived, he was never without a cookie for those who would come by to visit.
He loved music and card games with his Mom and Dad.
He loved Hollywood Trivia. He would challenge anyone who would take him on. He never lost.

A special tribute to his Mom and Dad who have unselfishly for many years taken such great care of Dwayne. They were his wings. They were able to take him to many softball games, amusement parks, family outings and countless care rides just to spend time with him.

He is survived by Parents, Rex and Una Peterson, Sunset; Rexine (Harry)
Chesbrough, Minnesota, Beverly Searle, Sunset; Barbara Reed, Syracuse; Mike Peterson, West Jordan, Kim (Tresa) Peterson, Perry. Two sons, David, Washington, and Chris, California, two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Dwayne's family would like to thank Applegate Hospice for their kindness and loving care.
