Mrs. Evia Biddix Denney, age 78, of Marion, died Sunday, November 3, 2002 at the Brian Center in Spruce Pine. A native of McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Biddix and Tessie Hollifield Biddix. She was a member of Hicks Chapel Baptist Church. She retired from Woodlawn Manufacturing Company and was a homemaker. A daughter, Beverly Ann Bartlett preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband, Carl Denney, of the home; three sons, Robert Denney and his wife Linda, Jerry Denny and his wife Gloria and Clifford Denney, all of Marion; three brothers, Cecil Hollifield, Dayton Hollifield and Curtis Hollifield, all of Burnsville; three sisters, Ruth Dale of Spruce Pine, and Ida Deyton and Doris Buchanan, both of Burnsville; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Bob Buhl officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hicks Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
