Rev. McAfee Dies In Austin
Rev. J. U. McAfee, 80, native of Corsicana, died early Monday in an Austin hospital after an extended illness. He was a brother to Mrs. Ross Sutton, Corsicana.
Private funeral services will be conducted sometime Tuesday morning in Austin, but further details were not available.
Rev. McAfee was a retired Methodist minister. He had been ill for 10 years and had been hospitalized for the past year.
Survivors, other than the widow, include two daughters, Mrs. Tracy Varnell, Odessa and Mrs. Dreen Ringland, Tulsa. Okla.; three sons, H. J. McAfee and Ralph L. McAfee both of New York, N.Y. and Stewart McAfee with the U.S. Navy in Philadelphia, four sisters, Mrs. Sutton, Corsicana, Mrs. A. A. Bennett, Providence R.I., Mrs. L. G. Daniel, Waco and Mrs. Bryan Williams, Galveston; one brother, Dr. A. M. McAfee, Woodville; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family requested no flowers sent.

Methodist at Barry Raise Church Debt.
Rev. J. U. McAfee reports that the Methodists at Barry have raised $450 and cleared their church of all debt and that Rev. W. H. Mathews will dedicate the Church the second Sunday in November.
