Mrs. Goldie Marie McKinney was born to her earthly life on Friday, July 17, 1914, the daughter of Andrew Wilson and Elvira Crabtree Wilson. Mrs. McKinney was born to her eternal life on Monday, June 9, 1997, at the family residence, 609 Walnut Street, Trumann, at the age of 82. She was born in Williford and had lived in Trumann for the past 28 years. She was a housewife and a member of the Eastside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Jasper McKinney, who died in 1969; one son, Eugene McKinney, who died in 1996; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one sister; three half-sisters; two brothers; one half-brother; and her parents.
Mrs. McKinney is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Doris Bailey of Jonesboro, Mrs. Darlene Dearman of Coleman, TX, Mrs. Marlene Huebsch of Madill, OK; Mrs. Sylvia Smith and Mrs. Charolet Brooks both of Trumann, and Mrs. Melba Wood of Paragould; four sons, Doyle McKinney of Rockford, IL, Orland McKinney of Odessa, TX, James McKinney of Madill,OK, and William McKinney of Paragould; three sisters, Mrs. Frieda McKinney and Ms. Werlene Wilson, both of Trumann, and Miss Maggie Wilson of St. Louis, MO.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 P.M. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann with Rev. Jerry Miller and Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Log Cemetery in Jonesboro under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Brooks, Bobby Brooks, Philip Clark, Wade Lamberson, Marvin Pippinger, and Bobby Willbanks.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
The family request that those wishing to leave lasting memorials to consider the Eastside Baptist Church in Trumann and the St. Bernard's R.M.C. Hospice program.
