Joint funeral services were held Thursday, August 22 at Stump funeral home for William Greeley Sampson, 82 of Chloe, and his wife, Mary Hicks Sampson, 76.
Mr. Sampson died Monday evening, August 19, at Calhoun General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Sampson died Tuesday evening in the hospital's emergency room, after suffering a heart attack while attending her
husband's visiting hours at the funeral home.
Both were born in Calhoun County, and are survived by one son, Lowell C. Sampson of Chloe.
Mr. Sampson was a son of the late Marshall and Anna Bell Butler Sampson and was retired farmer. He is survived by two brothers, Harley of Spencer and Carl of Chloe, and a sister, Cora Metz of Akron.
Mrs. Sampson was a daughter of the late Clay and Rushia Jarvis Hicks and was a member of the Little White Oak Methodist Church. She is survived by five sisters, Anna Harold of Orlando, FL, Sylvia Risbin of Dearfield Beach, Fl, Norma Jarvis of Seville, Ohio, Minnie Boggs and Cora Fritz, both of Akron, and three brothers, Hallie Hicks of Vienna, Curt Hicks of Chloe, and Rector Hicks of
Akron.
The Rev. Carl Morris officiated at the services and burial was in the Hicks Cemetery at Chloe.
